Journal Snapshots
This series of photographs was taken in April 2008 after I tore up 25 years of my old journals to release the past. Each photograph focuses on one fragment that stands out in the sea of paper surrounding it. Other words and bits of sentences can also be seen, creating a compelling visual collage. There is an intimacy to the photographs, pages torn from a private journal, inner thoughts and emotions shared. For a moment the distance we imagine exists between others and ourselves disappears.
